Saturday, Sep 23 12:00 Diane Ippel, Hammered Dulcimer (classical music) Dianne Ippel is a musician, photographer, and jewelry designer living at the WAV for 13 years. Her 50-year performance career includes both vocal and instrumental music featuring guitar, autoharp, and over 30 years on the hammered dulcimer. 1:30 Saint Pierre, Guitar (acoustic guitar) Saint Pierre is a musician and founding director of Music and Art for Youth, having been a WAV resident artist for 13 years. A master guitarist, he regularly performs at multiple downtown venues and produces music while collecting works of art and exhibits for affordable artworks. For this event, Saint Pierre will be performing a middle-eastern musical selection with a 12-string acoustic baritone guitar custom-made by luthier professor David Dolak al Columbia University. 3:00 Frances Spencer, “The Nursing Home Rebellion” ACT 1 (dramatic reading)Frances Spencer is a painter, poet, and playwright living at WAV for 13 years. She has written 17 plays, monologues, and musicals, including several that have been produced and/or won awards or competitive finalists. “The Nursing Home Rebellion” — a musical tale of finding beauty and passion with age — will be presented at a table reading with Frances and Peter Hanson, guest voice actor, reading Act 1. 4:00 Open/Available/TBD 5:30 Davey Miller, Drums (jazz music)Davey Miller is a WAV musician and painter with a passionate jazz genre style. He has performed with many masters including Mitch Forman (Stan Gets, Wayne Shorter), John Beasly (Miles Davis, Freddy Hubbard), Ric Fierabracci (Chick Corea, Billy Cobham Spectrum band), and Brad Rabuchin (Ray Charles). His surfer-inspired paintings convey both the mysticism and dynamism of the ocean, and can be found on display in several locations throughout Ventura and Southern California. Sunday, Sep 24 12:00 Donald Sommerfield (book reading) Donald Sommerfield is a writer and actor living at the WAV. He has published two books and is currently working on his third. His acting career spans three decades, from the 1970s to the 1990s. 1:00 Sam Harley (poetry reading) Samuel Harley lives as the WAV, is a citizen of three countries, speaks three languages well, and several others badly. He teaches regularly, writes sporadically, preaches occasionally and pontificates frequently in his car. He enjoys tinkering with plants, honey, popular assumptions and extended metaphors. He indulges in logic repair - currently out of fashion, so for money he teaches foreign students to mangle English in style. 1:00-4:00pm DJ Henningham DJ Henningham emcees a stunning wearable art fashion show in the WAV courtyard. The WAV Gallery presents a community exhibition featuring the work of over 20 resident artists -- all living, working, and creating in their studios at Working Artists Ventura.
WAV will host a stage with performances of spoken word/poetry, drama, and music; workshops will also take place on the property throughout the weekend. Artist Marketplace

He has a YouTube channel, the Art of Comics, where he discusses the comic book business and interviews creatives. Drawing from evidence-based art psychotherapy and mindfulness practices — such as guided meditation and visualizing — gain simple, accessible, and effective wellness strategies to incorporate into your daily life.
